I am trying to finish Andrew Jackson and the American People, by Albert Marrin. It is an interlibrary loan book that was due back in December, so I really need to finish it and return it.

I am almost done with Letters From Stephan: Stories from the First Solo Walk Around the World. It's really cool. A journalist decided to walk around the world, and he sent letters back to several magazine's chronicling his adventures. This is the book form of all those letters. You get a really good feel for the cultures when you're walking through their land. Add in a few near death experiences with bandits, obnoxious foreign consuls, and walks through occupied territories, and you get excitement as well as interesting tidbits about other cultures. It's really interesting, I highly recommend it.
