I've read the first two, still haven't got around to reading the third. I thought they were cool. Dobro was hilarious.

I've read the first one, and I like it. It's sorta different from other fantasy, and I love the American frontier feeling he gives it. It makes me feel right at home. The parts with the feechie-folk are the best.

I just recently finished rereading the trilogy.

The feechiefolk are great. You would probably like the second book, Alassiel, because it's just crawling with them.

I shall have to try extra-hard to get my hands on it, then.

Ahem. The Wilderking Trilogy by Jonathan Rogers (see the Incredibooks Interview with the author ) is patterned somewhat after David's life in the Bible. Twelve-year-old Aidan Errolson lives on the island of Corenwald as a shepherd but dreams of being a great warrior and hero. (King Darrow of Corenwald never answers any of his numerous letters begging for an adventure, however.) But one day he hears the bark of the bog owl and meets Dobro Turtlebane, who is one of the legendary feechiefolk. (The feechiefolk are quite the characters... ) And then Aidan goes on to slay a giant and that stuff. Anyway, that's the first book. There's a three year gap between each book so in the second one he's fifteen, and then in the third he's eighteen.

    That's a start, anyway.

I gave book two to my sis for Christmas, and just finished reading it meself now. It was pretty good. The feechies are so funny! Some of the things they come up with are absolutely ridiculous. I love the strange words they make up, like 'confabulate.'

I just read book 3. Very good end to the trilogy! Anybody now what Jonathan Rogers is going to write next, if anything?

I don't know of any plans, but there may be things I don't know. I know he has one other book out, The World According to Narnia, which I haven't read but looks sorta interesting.

I accidentally discovered it while looking at the Wilderking books on CBD the other day. I reacted like you, too.

Yeah, I saw that too and ordered it from the library. But does anybody know of any fiction books in the works?
