I read the first book yesterday, but will have to wait until the next library trip to continue reading the series. What are y'all's thoughts on the books?

I've only read the first one, and I thought it hovered on the line between allegory and story too much. It is marketed as fiction, and I think it pretty much fails miserably there, but it had some interesting points as an allegory. That's not to say I disliked it, though.

I would like to read the rest sometime, but our library doesn't have them, they would be hard to get on ILL, and I'm not going to spend money on them unless I get them used. So, I'll read them eventually.

I couldn't believe the way the first one ended. Me: What?!? Is that the end?!

I read these books when they were self-published, a couple of years before Multnomah picked them up. I thought they were really good. Has anyone read Chuck Black's latest Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione?

Not yet. I was considering reading it after I finish the Kingdom Series.

Nope, I noticed them in the bookstore though, and thought they looked interesting.

I read the next two books in the Kingdom Series, but the library didn't have the next ones on the shelf, so I shall have to put them on hold!

I read the first four Kingdom books and thought them a tad amateur, as though the author was flexing his writing muscles, but in the fifth book he just exploded and made me love it.

I've read the first five books, but now I need to put the sixth one on hold. Thanks for reminding me.

    *laughs* You're welcome.
I have decided to reread a bunch of my favourite books this summer; I believe the fifth Kingdom book should be one of those glorious rereads.

I finished reading the series just the other day. I thought they were pretty good, but I probably wouldn't buy them.

I'm reading Sir Bentley by him right now (The sequel to Sir Kendrick).

I haven't decided if I'm going to read the Knights of Arrethtrae as well. Hmmmm.

If they're anything like the fifth book in the Kingdom Series, I'd read 'em.
