How do y'all keep track of the books you've read? Or do you? I've been keeping a list of every book I've read since easter 2003, and recently passed my goal of reading 1,000 books!

My mom started writing down the books that each of us kids have read when I was, I don't know, in the 10-13 range. She still does it now, and I have no idea what my count is!

Yeah, I do. Have been since near the end of 2006. I've just passed 300 books. Not counting rereads.
Hey pip, after 1,000 books, you must know a couple worth reading :D. What's, like, your top 10?

I started a book journal last year. I write down the title, date completed, and any comments I have. Then I rate the book from 1-10, and note if it made me laugh or cry.

C Triebold, I can't speak for Pip, but after that many books you start to make lists not in "top ten" but in "top 100"!

Coolness, Alassiel! I write down the date and if something big happens that day, like a B-day or something like that.
Yeah, I have, like, 60 books on me two fav. shelves...but here are a few:
Narnia series
Redwall series
Carry On, Mr. Bowditch
The Door Within
Little Women
The Little White Horse
The Mitford series
A Lantern in her Hand
Mere Christianity
A Cricket in Times Square
Prydain Chronicles (only the first and third made it to the honorable fav. shelf!)
Caddie Woodlawn
Count of Monte Cristo
The Golden Goblet
The Bronze Bow
Charlotte's Web
Betsy and the Emperor

I keep a list on the computer, just of titles and authors, and lately I've been putting them into Goodreads too...that list isn't complete yet, but it says 665 at the moment. (And 275 to read--a shockingly low number that makes me wonder what I'll do when I come to the end of it. Start rereading, I suppose.)

275 is not shockingly low compared to mine: 0.

Is that Aldrich, Pip? I read a bunch of her books and that's one of the one's that I managed to like.
Keep a list of what I've read, yes, I do. I have a small journal type book with gold leaves on the cover that tells what I've read previously. Basically it tells what I read each day, on April 25, 2006 I read The Groovy Greeks and the third chapter of Jane Fairfax.
I've been keeping that list of what I've read since October 11, 2004.

Yeah, I believe it's Aldrich. I loved that book! It reminded me of AoGG and Bambi (very good, also).
I don't usually write down what I've read but not finished, unless I'm bored with journaling and groping for topics!
That would be too embarrasing...
April 1: Read outta Fellowship of the Ring.
December 30: Finished Fellowship.
See, I read what I feel like when I feel like it (unless it's a school book), so some books don't pull me into them until months later!Posted 3 years ago # -
Have you read Bambi's Children? I didn't like it as much as Bambi.
I kept a list of the new books I read, but it kind of fell beside the way when I started to run out of good stuff to read.
Posted 3 years ago # -
No, I didn't know there WAS a sequel! That's exciting...
Heaven forbid that I should ever run outta good things to read! Gee, when that happens, I'll resort to reading me own writing!Posted 3 years ago # -
For a while I thought I had run out of good stuff to read, but then I started looking, and now I have so many books on my mental list that I think I'll be old and gray before I finish them all.

"I'll have a long beard by the time I read them..."

Since the end of the Read-a-Thon I've started keeping a list on the computer of what I've read, stating the book's title and the author.
