    Just out of curiousity...

Does anyone shop at Half Price Books on a regular basis?  Do you find it to be a good source for new reading matieral?  Do you generally go to browse, or do you come armed with titles and authors?  Do you often sell back the books you've finished?  Have you found somewhere else to buy new-to-you books that is less expensive?

I was there recently and purchased a book I couldn't find in my library systems.  I am pondering, after I've read it, whether to pass it on or sell it back as "down payment" on a new book.  (If it's not worth keeping, which I don't expect it to be.)

I like shopping at half price book stores in fact I'm going to go to one today. Often they don't have the new books but if your looking for classics and older books you can get them pretty cheap. I think half price book stores are a good place to buy books. at my half price book store, with 15 bucks you can get quite a number of books usually in good quality other then buying 1 new book with that money. I love half price book stores!

Half Price is a discount bookstore.  Their advertising stick is "Books at half the publisher's price," hence the name, but some of their books are less.  They buy used books for cash/credit, so their stock is a mix of used and new.  They have a little bit of everything.  They handle movies and music, too!  They just recently built one in my area, so we've been able to go more regularly.

I've purchased craft books/mags from them, which I intend to keep, but this most recent trip I bought a book I only plan to read once, in all likelihood.  So I'm debating about whether to sell it back for credit or just pass it along.

I agree, Half Price probably wouldn't have a lot of the freshly-released titles, but they have plenty of recent books, as well as older titles.

Did you find any gems today, Wyatt?

I've had DragonSpell recommended to me, but I haven't gotten there yet.  I have a family member that really enjoys the Eragon series and Peanuts!

Do you usually trade in the books when you're finished reading them, Wyatt?  Or do you  mostly buy and collect?

I like to buy and collect. In fact because of all the books I have I need to get a new book case.

    LOL!

I just started reading the book I bought from Half Prince - The 101 Habits of Highly Successful Novelists.  I don't think it's going to have reread value, but I know some friends who would probably enjoy reading it. So I probably will end up passing it on.

I forgot to mention, the Eldest book was a limited edition...edition and I got it for only six bucks and it's in good condition. (:
