Alrighty, I've been following the thread where the discussion has turned to http://PaperbackSwap.com and my dad just sent me http://BookMooch.com which seems to be the same sort of thing.

So here's my question. Have you tried either of these? What's your experience them? Do you know of any others? Again, what's your experience with them?

I know people on NarniaWeb who use those sites, I don't. But, you can do the same thing with Goodreads.com. Never tried and have no desire too.

Paperbackswap.com is expensive once you sell a lot of books...postage adds up! But it's kinda neat being able to shop and buy and sell meself.

I love Paperbackswap. Postage does add up, but you're really only paying about 2 dollars per book. That's not too bad. PBS is very user-friendly and easy to understand. I've never used BookMooch, so I can't compare.

I've done some on BookMooch now, listed a bunch of books so I'd have credits, and now I have to send out ten already! So I figured I'd better get a few so I wasn't just paying lots of postage. Still waiting for them to come, we'll see how well it works.

Update! I sent out five packages today, media mail is cheaper than I thought. And then I received one of my books just now. Now I need to find time to read The Mysterious Island again.

I don't know that you'd call it success. I discovered that I have lots of desirable books, and too many books of my own already, and the ones that I want are pretty hard to find people who want to give them away.

Good 'eavens! You can NEVER have too many books, jordan!!!!!! I just recently got s'more books from PaperbackSwap; I've been surprised at the good condition they're in. I was expecting smelly, beat-up old thangs! Has anyone ever gotten bummers like that? We got the evil-smellingest copy of the Illiad on Amazon, and I still wonder at how I ever got through the whole thing without passing out!

I don't mean I have too many books, just that I have so many that I can't think of books that I want to own!
