Has anyone ever seen things like T-shirts or general goodies about books? For example, I have a shirt that said "Careful, or you'll end up in my novel." And I saw a tote that quoted, "Real Men Read." Jolly things like that warm my heart!

I love the 'Careful, or you'll end up in my novel' thingummy...I want one.

I have a shirt that says "There's no such thing as too many books" but that's about all...

The library and the bookstore sell nice cloth bags with names of authors all over them, but in some attempt at patriotism they're all Canadian people who I've never heard of before. Sigh.

I actually made that Careful... T-shirt, with a little permanent gel detailer. Centering it it hard, tho...
It believe there's a game called Authors, isn't there? A card game?

I have a bookbag that's like Pip's shirt. *fetches it* Alright, I have it here beside me, it's green and white a cheap bag. Well, it's mostly white one side it says "BOOKS by state of bliss" and on one side it has in green "Hours fly. Flowers die." and in blue "I object to that remark very strongly" which I spelled remark wrong by mistake, it had in red "When she told a story, she rolled her eyes and waved her head and was very dramatic". On the bottom it has "don't I just wish I was big enough to punch your head" and on the other end "going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more then standing in your garage makes you a car". So that's all one side and the bottom, the center of the other side has on the top above a pocket "Owan ~ Sesquipedalian" further down in red "and I was the lion you do not remember" and in black "which demonstrates the sad poverty of the English launguage" on the side is "Father! Can I box him!" I didn't have room for "Please" I also have in black "But ignorance here is less than bliss".
It's got to handles one has "Because I could not stop for death he kindly stopped for me, the carriage held but ourselves and Immortality" on the other side of this handle is in red "We read to know we are not alone -- C. S. Lewis" the other handle has "newsboys" on it and the words "Say you need love".
There's also a pocket on the inside of it that has some of my favorite names on it: Stephen Black, Dunstan, Clemence, Istra, Duncan, Peter, Carman, Dagmar, Henri, Erik.

I'm sure that made no sense; but there you have it.

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more then standing in your garage makes you a car." I like that.

    It's G. K. Chesterton.

Go, Chesterton! One lovely quote by...Alcott, I believe: "She has read too many books and it has addled her brain!"

Haha, I like that quote too. So fitting.

Owan, that bag sounds fabulously cool. Particularly the "Stephen Black" and "Istra" and "Father, can I box him?" parts.

Does Goodreads count as an item of book material? It is a most excellent website.

    I guess so...
Is that little reader thing that looks like a Blackberry worth all the money? I kinda like having books on my shelves.

Thanks, Alyosha! I got my first complement on the bag yesterday, I was in the library and some random girl asked if the "Because I could not wait for death..." part was Emily Dickinson, said she loved that poem.

Pip here again; guess that was a dumb question!
I got shirt not that long ago that states "Books. Cats. Life is sweet." That's perfect, because books and cats are like my most favorite things in the world!!!!!! That and random jolliness and goodies. And poufy things. And homeschooling and anything related to the things I've just posted!!

Somehow I missed this when it was first posted. You mean the Kindle? It's supposed to be pretty good. I'd like to try one if somebody would send me a free one!

Oh sure, if someone would just hand me one, I'd probably love it...I'm considering saving up for a laptop, because I'd like to do my writing on one. The family computer is rother sticky (I have little sisters!) and the sibs are on it some, and I can't hardly read my hand writing after I've scribbled something out! So I may start saving for a laptop.

I know Barnes and Noble sells bags with book quotes on them, and t-shirt sites or you can google "book t-shirts" or something like that sells them (people have created them)
