I just finished it. It was a little slow for a while, since Dickens isn't exactly easy reading. But I sobbed so hard at the end. Has anyone else read it? Did you cry? What did you think?

I've read it; it was a while ago, but I really liked it.
I had read an abridged version before though, so the ending was spoiled. (Death to abridged versions!) It was really good, love the first and last lines (as over-quoted as they are). And Miss Pross (I think that's her name?) was my favourite character...Mme Defarge was v. interesting also.

The end was spoiled for me too,(at least partially) due to the back cover description. (Death to spoilers on back covers!)

Haven't read it, but...

I read it! Yes, it was sad at the end. *sniffs* Although I don't remember actually crying. . .
What's her name. . . the French lady who knits? She creeped me out!

Yeah, Madame Defarge is very creepy. She just has a complete lack of mercy or compassion.

Off-topic, since I'm reading it for school next year (growls of impatience) : Alyosha, I totally agree! I loathe, despise and abominate abridged books!!! P'raps we should begin a cyberized protest rally: Down with abridged books and back-cover spoilers!

Yes. Perhaps we should.
We could at least out it in our signatures, or something.
(Except I don't think anyone here likes abridged books to begin with...ah well.)
Are there any TTS movies worth watching? I expect there are about half a million adaptions but I haven't seen any of them.

I had started reading the not abridged version about I don't know maybe two years ago when I was seven but it was way to slow-moving for me. Recently about a month ago I took the abridged version from my school library along with Heide and it was okay but it wasn't such a great book.
