The last week of the Read-a-Thon has arrived, and we have one more mini-race up our sleeves. And this one is the easiest of the bunch. Whoever reads the most pages during these final seven days will win this great set of bookmarks.

Just post your new pages counts in here when you post them in the main Read-a-Thon thread. Keep a running total of pages for this race just like in the main thread.

It's the final week. And the clock is ticking.

Ready, Get set, GO!

Welcome to the second of the Incredibooks Read-a-Thon Mini Races!

Get ready for the reading race of your lives! Your missions? To thrill your younger siblings by reading them as many books as they can possibly stand. The person who reads the most pages to their siblings wins a prize. For those of you who don't have younger siblings, don't fret! Anyone younger than you counts, be they cousin, friend, or someone you babysit.

Keep track of the books and page counts in this thread and discover who, in the eyes of their siblings (or other younger children), totally rocks! You've got until August 10th to score as many pages as possible. Whoever reads the most pages to their younger siblings wins a set of bookmarks:

Welcome to the first of the Incredibooks Read-a-Thon Mini Races!

This is a challenge to see how many books you can read that begin with different letters of the alphabet. No duplicate beginning letters allowed in here! The person with the most letters by the end of the week wins a great collection of bookmarks. In the event that multiple people have the same number of letters at the end of the race, we'll randomly choose between them.

And the really good news is that you don't have to read separate books to enter the A+ Awards race! Your Read-a-Thon books will count! As long as they're read within the one week period this race is open they're fair game.

The same general rules apply to both the Read-a-Thon and the A+ Awards, but in this race we're not going to let you count the title letters of books you read to your siblings. Sorry.

But we'll be generous with the title letter rules.

If the title begins with an article ("a", "an", or "the") you can either count the first letter as your alphabet letter, or skip it and go to the first letter of the next word.

You don't have to go in alphabetical order. (I'm hearing sighs of relief all around)

But! If you use the same beginning letter twice, you lose two points.

For Example, you could read The High King, Hamlet, and The Bellmaker. If you count the "T" from the first one you score a "T", an "H", and a "B". Three points! But if a few days ago you entered "By The Banks of Plum Creek" you loose two points for duplicating a letter.

To help keep any confusion down, please put which letters you're counting at the top of the post. We don't want to accidentally take away points!

The A+ Award starts today and ends July 6th. Post the books you want to count in this thread, but don't forget to keep counting in the Read-a-Thon thread. Let's read through the alphabet!
