Personally, this is just me, but whatever, I would read the book first (in a situation like this). Now if the movie came out first THEN the book, I want to see the movie first. I think the movie will be fine... after all, it is an adaptation of the book, like most movies from books are, so... yeah, it'll be different from the book, but did you really expect them to follow the whole book word by word?

I have seen the movie of Percy Jackson but I didn't really because most of the time it was way to scary. Then my sister took the movie out from the library so then I had to stay out of the den because that's where the computers are. Then my sister took the book out from the library.

I have read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, but it was some time ago, so I don't remember too much about the first book. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I did hear that they made them 16 or something, which messes up the "when Percy turns 16" thing in the books. I also heard that Percy knows too much about how to do this and that with his water powers in the movie.

Yes, Adalin, this is one of the few films I have seen that I thought needed more dialogue. Most of the time I feel like less was needed. Although, pieces of VDT needed less dialogue, too…

Our entire family saw it a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I was disappointed. They left alot of things hanging, when one sentence could have cleared it up. They needed more dialouge. Spoilers after this.
Eustace's transformation was disappointing. They didn't make it clear that when he was scratching, he was trying to remove his dragon skin. All they would have needed was one line from Aslan along the lines of, remove your skin you are a boy now. Or something like that. So Eustace's story didn't have the same impact it did in the book.
On a nicer note I really enjoyed the relationship between Caspian and Edmund. Especially the scene right before the end battle, the two of them chatting while putting their armor on. It was very sweet.
I also liked the battle scenes, they were creative and interesting. No more lining armies up and charging. I salute their choreographer.
So my final conclusion they made a good movie, but failed to go the extra mile to make it a great movie. Which is unfortunate.

If anyone has read Percy Jackson and the Olympians : the Lightning Thief, the movie was much different from the book. For one, in the book the characters were 12, in the movie they're like 16. For another in the book there was no Persephone. In the movie they also took out the Furies. The list goes on, but I'll stop now because I'm giving away like a million spoilers. Overall the movie was still good, just its annoying that it differs from the book.
